We love a good modern take on a classic, and Rubik's Spark certainly fits the bill. It's powered by three AAA batteries and there are six different challenges to carry out, either in single player mode or multiplayer. You tilt and turn the cube and special inbuilt sensors identify what you're doing.
This one is great for slightly older children, one of whom seemed to spend an entire two week half-term holiday attempting to solve all the various puzzles. You have to do things like try to light up the whole cube, follow a path to test your memory skills or play a 3D version of a snacking snake game, guiding an increasingly large snake around the corners of the cube to the flashing food tiles. The Rubik's DJ mode is pretty fun too.
This is one to leave on the coffee table when you have guests round too: guaranteed that your average adult can't resist picking it up and having a go.
What our reviewers said: "There is something seriously addictive about this", "I love the size and shape of it - really nice and tactile to play with".
