Go for gold (and silver and bronze)
Timing its run to perfection, the new board game MedalHaul is now available in branches of The Entertainer. The brainchild of game inventor Abigail Obar, MedalHaul sees players compete to top the medal table, piling up bronze, silver and gold medals as they move around the board.
Aimed at kids aged six and up (and adults can enjoy the game as well), MedalHaul imparts lessons on fair play, the rules of a range of sports and even subtle lessons on the dangers of taking performance-enhancing drugs (you can lose one of your medals if you ‘fail’ a drugs test during the game!).
As well as being all about the struggle and triumph of winning a medal, the development of the game is itself a study in triumph over adversity. Self-funded at every stage of the development process (it’s taken more than 18 months to get the game to market) Abigail has seen her persistence rewarded with the deal with The Entertainer.
With a website in development, you will soon also be able to buy the game online, at a price of around £25.
