Ten to watch from Toy Fair 2010

It’s not easy picking out highlights from an event like the Toy Fair, where so many fantastic new toys and games are on show, but we’ve come up with a list of ten products that we think will prove to be very popular this year.

Chuggington die-casts
We’ve been waiting eagerly for Learning Curve’s Chuggington range and we were wowed by the die-cast trains that are due to arrive in March.

Bigtrak Jr
Bigtrak is back – in a slimmed down format. Dubreq’s Bigtrak Jr has all the familiar sound effects and movements, but will come with some cool new accessories (including a rocket launcher!) when it arrives in the summer.

Retro Racers
More retro appeal comes in the shape of Le Toy Van’s Retro Racers, cool wooden racing cars with Budkins drivers at the wheel.

Mighty Beanz
Spin Master may have a new craze on its hands with these crazy-looking jumping beans. They’re big, chunky and colourful and they might just take off.

Airplane
Famous for its intricately detailed animal figurines, Schleich will take flight this September with a stunning plane in safari livery, perfect for flying over those animals.

Tomica
Tomy’s Tomica range can be built up into an amazingly intricate cityscape that should be utterly engrossing for youngsters, including cars, trains, roads, tracks, people and buildings.

Talking Ben and Holly
Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom is another toy line we’ve been anxiously looking out for. Golden Bear’s range will be with us in September and includes these talking versions of the stars of the show.

Ant-O-Sphere
Kids love watching insects at work, and Interplay’s space-age ant city is a great way to do it. Build your ants a new home and watch how they use it.

Pull Along Very Hungry Caterpillar
Eric Carle’s greedy little caterpillar continues to enchant youngsters and the new pull-along version from Rainbow Designs is the highlight of the company’s beautiful new wooden toy range.

Tinga Tinga Tales Beanies
The new CBeebies show has a range of toys coming out from Bandai, all sharing the same striking colour schemes inspired by Tanzanian art, including beautiful 15cm Beanies.
