Petite pets

Tomy’s loveable little Micro Pets have got an upgrade and are back in 2010 as Micro Pets-i.

The palm-sized pets are suitable for children aged six and over, and are available in nine different models with fun food-themed names – two bears called Pudding and Rosehip, a panda called Oleo, three dogs called Custard, Chocolate and Whip and three cats called Mocha, Milk and Sesame. There’s also a glittery cat called Berry Fizz available to be won on the Micropets Website.

The pets are not just cute, they’re clever too. Tap a special ball on the floor in front of each pet a certain number of times, and they can move around avoiding obstacles in their path, following the ball or your fingers and singing little songs. The Micro Pets-i can even communicate with one another through infra-red when they come face to face, and they will sing a song together.

When the Micro Pets-i, priced around £9.99 each, have met five times, it’s time to decide if they have a future together, so listen out for them singing the wedding march, or making a scary noise indicating that it’s all over between them.
