Roobarb and Custard toys

Roobarb and Custard’s legion of devoted fans will be delighted to hear that a range of products based on the cult TV show will be with us soon.

Bulldog Licensing has announced that it will be representing the dog and cat duo. Cuddly toys, fashion accessories and stationery deals are expected soon.

“Roobarb and Custard are classic characters with massive retro appeal,” said Bulldog’s Rob Corney. “The licensing possibilities are huge and we already have strong interest from a number of potential partners.”

Having originally launched in the 1970s, the cartoon show (created by Grange Calveley and narrated by Richard Briers) was an instant hit thanks to its wacky storylines, wobbly animation and brilliant vocal characterisations from Briers – not to mention that insanely catchy theme tune.

The show was relaunched as Roobarb and Custard Too in 2005 and is currently showing on Channel Five.
