Elephants never forget
This Christmas, there is a toy on the market that will benefit more than just the child you buy it for.
Zambi, the baby African elephant from Hasbro, has a special pattern inside his big ears that was designed by Zambian AIDS orphans from the Chikumbuso Project, and 50% of the profit from the sale of Zambi will go to them.
The soft elephant is suitable for children aged four upwards and has sensors in his trunk, back and chest that make him interact just like a real elephant when he is played with. Zambi’s trunk moves up and down and curls affectionately round your finger, and his ears wiggle with delight, plus he makes chewing and trumpeting noises and blows kisses. He is priced around £39.99.
The children from Chikumbuso (which means ‘to remember’) also designed the charity bracelet that is included.
