Conclusion: A brilliant book, for lovers of LEGO Star Wars young and old.
Dorling Kindersley’s book devoted to the world of LEGO Star Wars covers its theme in quite breathtaking detail over 96 action-packed pages.
Split into four chapters – Movie Saga, The Clone Wars, Specialist Sets and Beyond the Brick – the book charts the development of LEGO Star Wars sets over the years, starting out with a fascinating timeline, which not only serves to highlight just how many sets have been produced, but will no doubt be used to build a very extensive wish list for the coming year.
The book proceeds to look at the sets in detail, grouping together different products under a theme, such as Darth Vader or the Imperial Army. Each spread is absolutely packed with information on the background of each set, as well as gorgeous photographs.
The all-important minifigures obviously feature prominently, often photographed at two or three times normal size. In fact, a minifigure is the reason why the book is a little fatter than you would expect for a 96-pager – a section is reserved for housing the exclusive Luke Skywalker minifigure that accompanies the book.
For LEGO Star Wars fans it’s hard to imagine topping this, a book that will be devoured by children and adults alike.
