Revell’s big birds

The Airbus A380 is the largest passenger plane in service, able to carry 550 passengers. No wonder, then, that Revell has had to shrink it down to 1:288 scale to fit it into its easykit range.

This fully painted model simply snaps together, with no gluing necessary, and its 47 parts make up a model that is still 252mm long, with a wingspan of 278mm, which helps to demonstrate just how enormous the original is.

Looking positively modest by comparison, the so-called ‘Jumbo’ jet now has to take second billing to its bigger rival.

The Boeing 747-400 ‘Lufthansa’ still makes an imposing easykit model, with a wingspan of 231mm. Like the A380, this kit is made up of 47 parts and is priced around £10.99.
