The Tellatale Finger Puppet Theatre from Fiesta Crafts is a vibrant table-top theatre for finger puppets, priced around £17.99. Complete with red fabric curtains, this wooden theatre slots together easily with no need for tools, and is a great venue for Tellatale Finger Puppets to take to the stage.
Puppeteers aged three and upwards can act out classic stories, using the wide range of boxed sets available, including Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, Aladdin and Wizard of Oz, available from around £9.99 each.
Taking to the stage in their debut performance this year are a number of new finger puppets. The Cinderella Set contains five puppets: two genuinely Ugly Sisters, Cinderella herself along with her Fairy Godmother, who can transform her into a princess with a wave of her wand (the pack includes a ballgown to help with the transformation) and the lucky Prince Charming who gets to dance with Cinderella in all her splendour. This set is priced around £13.99.
The Snow White Set, like all the Tellatale puppets, is carved from sustainable wood. This set is priced around £15.99, and seven dwarves, each dressed in a different brightly-coloured little outfit, gather around their unexpected houseguest, Snow White, who is holding out a rather delicious looking apple…
If you want to stage a production that’s a little more futuristic, the new Robot and Girly Alien Finger Puppets are priced around £2.49 each, and the storyline is completely up to you. It could be the first time in theatre history that an alien has fallen in love with a robot – certainly with her five eyes she should be able to look past the fact that he seems to have four legs, and find a way to push his buttons.
For all those bit parts in your play, the ones listed right at the back of the program – like ‘second fairy’ and ‘dragon’s friend’ – assorted individual figures such as kings, queens, mermaids, firefighters, dragons, Vikings and fairies are available. For a modest fee of around £2.49 each they could be yours for unlimited performances.
