The Princess and the Frog toys

Mattel and Creative Designs International will be releasing a range of toys based on the new Disney feature-length animated film The Princess and the Frog.

Due to reach UK cinemas in early 2010, the toy tie-ins will launch at the same time and will include the Princess Tiana Feature Doll, plush Kissing Frog Pairs and a Princess Tiana Toddler Doll. There will also be playsets and costumes.

Tiana will be the first new Disney princess for over 10 years and will be voiced by Tony Award-winning actress/singer Anika Noni Rose, who came face to face with a preview doll at the New York Toy Fair earlier this year.

“The Princess Tiana doll, the role play dresses and the rest of the toy line are absolutely gorgeous,” said Anika. “I’m thrilled and honoured to have the opportunity to give a voice to this very special character. I grew up loving Disney Princess fairytales, and to work with Disney’s creative team and bring this wonderful story to life has been a truly amazing experience.”

The Princess And The Frog will see Disney return to its classic, hand-drawn 2D animation and will feature vocal talents including Keith David, Jenifer Lewis, John Goodman, Jim Cummings, Terrence Howard and Oprah Winfrey.
