Still hungry after all these years
The very hungry caterpillar was hungrier than anyone could ever have suspected – it’s been munching away now for 40 years and Rainbow Designs is celebrating with a new range of toys.
Eric Carle’s book was first published back in 1969 and quickly established itself as a classic of children’s literature. The new Rainbow Designs range will include cuddly toys and wooden gifts not only from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, but other Carle stories as well.
First to launch is a pair of hand puppets recreating the miraculous journey from caterpillar to butterfly. Each is priced around £12.99 and captures the enduring appeal of Carle’s artwork.
“The Very Hungry Caterpillar is instantly recognisable and an all-time favourite of millions,” said Rainbow’s Anthony Temple (pictured, alongside Alys Keith-Lucas and a celebratory cake, at the Spring Fair). “We are delighted to be able to celebrate this special year with the launch of a new range of gifts.
“Our exciting new 2009 products feature the exceptional attention to detail, bright colours and quirky touches you would associate with the World of Eric Carle.”
Details on the other Eric Carle products will follow when they launch…
