Hasbro updates classic games

Hasbro has refreshed two of the best-loved games in its MB Games range, bringing us new versions of Battleship and Connect 4.

The updated Battleship has new ships and a hexagonal battlefield and the key to the game is no longer simply sinking your opponent’s fleet – you need to rescue your own crews as well when your ships are hit. For ages seven and up, Battleship is priced around £12.99.

There are now three ways to play Connect 4 – the Original version, where the winner is the first to get four of their checkers in a row, plus PopOut and Pop10 versions.

In PopOut, you can undermine your opponent by popping their checkers out from the bottom row, while Pop10 starts with a full grid of checkers that then need to be popped out to create the four-in-a-row lines. The first to get 10 lines of four wins.

The new Connect 4, featuring a built-in carry handle, is priced around £9.99 for children aged six and older.
