The Goodies
The new Goodie Games, from Learning Resources, help to develop early skills like counting, shape recognition and matching.
Each game is suitable for children aged three and older and can be enjoyed by 2–4 players. The Counting Bears Activity Set introduces number skills, with concepts like greater than/less than, matching and memory all part of the fun. Four different games can be played using the 40 bears, which can link paws and have hearts “icing” for counting.
The Cookie Shapes Activity Set gets to work on early algebra and geometry (and in our experience, the earlier you start with this the better!) There are five games with eight shapes (circle, triangle, square, heart, rectangle, star, flower and crescent) and 40 cookies.
The Colour Cookies Activity Set works on fine motor skills, colour recognition, matching and patterning. Four games can be played with the 36 cookies, which are divided into vanilla and chocolate, with six different coloured “fillings”. (Does anyone else feel hungry now?)
Each of the Goodie Games is priced around £13.40, or you can buy the set of three for around £37.
