Here come the Mr. Men
Fisher-Price’s new The Mr. Men Show toys bring the famous creations of Roger Hargreaves to bouncing, bumping, tickling life. The inhabitants of Dillydale have been turned into a range of cuddly toys that capture the mischievous fun of the Mr. Men and Little Misses.
Leading the way is Mr Tickle, the first Mr. Men character created by Hargreaves. The Somebody Needs a Tickle cuddly toy has Mr. Tickle’s trademark long arms and if you press his tummy he’ll vibrate and those arms will start tickling. He also has a stock of phrases and his “Tickle song” from the TV show and is priced around £30, for children of three and up.
Mr. Bump doesn’t need any help bumping into things – but you can help him anyway with the Hot Potato Mr. Bump. The more you throw him around, the crazier he gets, vibrating and spouting phrases from the show.
Mr. Rude is not the politest character in Dillydale. It’s hardly surprising, then, that his cuddly toy character has a vocabulary of rude phrases on hand (and just look at him sticking out that tongue!) Kids will no doubt approve.
Little Miss Chatterbox needs no introduction – which is fortunate because you can’t get a word in edgeways when she’s around. Press her mobile phone to set her off! Mr. Strong prefers to let his actions do the talking. He likes nothing better than lifting weights and he’ll happily challenge you to a competition when you flex those mighty arms.
The plush Mr. Men characters are priced around £18 each for children of four and older.
The Mr. Men Show Soft Friends Assortment includes 12 of the best-loved characters from Dillydale, each around 5in. high and priced around £5 for children of three and up. Collect them all and you can recreate your favourite Mr. Men stories.
Finally, the Collectable Figures Assortment features eight scenes, each including two characters from the show. You can enjoy snapshots such as Mr. Bump’s daily trip to casualty and Mr. Persnickety’s meeting with Mr. Messy (that sounds explosive). Each scene is priced around £7, for ages three and up.
