The thing about castles is, they may be great at withstanding sieges and destroying enemy armies, but they aren’t particularly mobile. Build a castle and you’re pretty much stuck with it where it is.

Not so with Playmobil’s new Knight’s Take Along Castle. This stronghold can be easily packed up and reassembled at will, wherever it’s needed most.

The castle stands a domineering 23cm high and comes with four knights, a heap of weapons and a working catapult. (Unless you want your impregnable fortress to fall very quickly, however, we recommend you keep the break-through wall section a secret.) The Knight’s Take Along Castle is priced around £24.99.

If you like coming at the whole knights-castle thing from the other direction, the new Attack Tower might be of more interest. It comes with a moveable battering ram and descending bridge to transport your rampaging hordes over the castle walls.
