Scalextric hits top gear

Scalextric’s Top Gear Powerlaps set is due to hit the shops today, and we’ve been looking forward to this ever since seeing ‘The Stig’ in the flesh at January’s Toy Fair.

The set comes with two cars, a Ford GT and a Porsche 911 GT3R, as well as a pair of Stig-themed controllers. What’s more, a mini Stig is to be found behind the wheel of each car.

There’s a lap counter and timer included, so you can compete to set the fastest lap time in true Top Gear style. There are 5.5 metres of track, including Gambon Corner, Hammerhead Chicane, Bacharach Bend, Bentley Bend and Chicago Corner, each with its name printed on the track.

The set is priced around £100.
