Get in training with Hornby
Hornby has launched a new range of model trains. The new RailRoad line includes locomotives, wagons and accessories with prices ranging from just £3.50 (for a selection of wagons) to around £50 (for the famous Flying Scotsman, pictured).
The emphasis is on durability, with the removal of easily damaged detail parts. This makes the trains in the RailRoad range particularly suitable for younger children, who will be able to play without fear of damaging the trains.
The range is also fully compatible with standard Hornby train sets, so it can be integrated with an existing collection.
The full range comprises the following locomotives: LNER Flying Scotsman (around £50); Virgin Trains Class 47 (around £40); LMS 3F 0-6-0 (around £30); and the LNER 0-4-0, Caledonian Railway 0-4-0 (pictured), Industrial 0-4-0 and BR Class 06 Diesel Shunter (all around £20).
Rolling stock choices include: Tredegar LWB Open Wagon, Shell Petrol Tanker and EWS LWB Open Wagon (around £3.50 each); BR 20 Ton Brake Van (around £5); Fuel Train Pack and Coal Train Pack (around £10 each); Breakdown Crane (around £13); Pullman Parlour Car (pictured) and Pullman Parlour Brake Car (around £15 each); and the Breakdown Train Pack (around £20).
Accessories include an Automatic Level Crossing and a Car Loading Ramp (pictured) each priced around £10.
Two Train Packs complete the range, with a BR Diesel Freight Pack and a GWR Freight Pack each selling for around £30.
Says Simon Kohler, at Hornby: “Young or old, keen modeller or just a beginner, RailRoad answers the needs of many and is a perfect compliment to the variety of products already to be found within the Hornby range.”
