Licensed to thrill
The Licensing Awards 2007 were held last night (September 13) at the Royal Lancaster Hotel. Created by The Licensing Source Book, The awards saw almost 1,000 guests attend and over 4,000 entries were up for consideration.
With a guest appearance from Postman Pat (in tuxedo, of course, this was a black tie event) the event was hosted by Simon Amstell, presenter of Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Among the many winners were the Sesame Street Interactive Tickle Me Elmo from Fisher-Price (Best Licensed Interactive Range), Hasbro’s Spider-Man 3 range (Best Licensed Toys or Games Range), Dora the Explorer (Best Pre-school Licensed Property), Doctor Who (Best Schoolers/Tween or Teen Licensed Property) and The Simpsons (Best Adult Licensed Property).
Ian Hyder, Director at The Licensing Source Book, said: “This year’s Licensing Awards was a huge success. We feel confident we have consolidated our position as the biggest awards ceremony in the annual licensing calendar.
“The awards celebrate the innovation and work achieved by the licensing industry throughout the year and also highlight the importance of this dynamic and vibrant industry within the bigger business picture. We look forward to building on this exciting initiative in the future.”
