In hot pursuit

Street_pursuitScalextric’s new Street Pursuit racing set builds on the success of the Scalextric Drift set ‘Powerslide’, launched in 2005. Anyone who’s seen The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift will know what this is all about – controlled slides around corners, known as ‘drifting’.

GallardoThis set features a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Range Rover Police Car, both fitted with 360° guide blades that let you spin and drift at will on the large figure-of-eight track. Because this type of driving is likely to lead to more collisions than usual (and the cross-roads track piece only adds to this!), both cars are built extra tough.

Range_roverThe Range Rover has a working siren, headlights and roof lights and both cars are fitted with Magnatraction with two magnet positions and quick-change braid plates. Priced around £100, you need an area of 100 x 200 cm to lay the track.

Looks great! It's a shame the drift cars can't be converted to digital

ToyTalk replies: You are right that the drift cars in this set cannot be converted to digital – however, purchasing the cars individually does give you this option. Quoting directly from Scalextric – "Both Range Rover and Lamborghini Gallardo are both DPR cars with standard guide blades. These can be used as digital cars on digital layouts".
